The change
Today, for the first time in many months, I don't feel the tightness in the chest.
I have suffered anxiety for quite some time. It started small: did I close the door, did I turn off the taps. Then it gradually became a nuisance. Then it blew up: I would feel very anxious if I had no work, and I would feel very anxious if I had some work. The feeling became permanent in the chest. No rest either way.
Today, for the first time in many months, I don’t feel the tightness in the chest, the anxiety associated with having work or no work. Such feeling only lasted 2 hours after a good run before today.
What happened, I asked myself? Nothing actually, apart from the fact that during my run yesterday, I slipped, fell, grazed myself badly, bloody. The fall itself was not bad, I got up, and finished. Pace and distance normal.
So could the anxiety lift because I am in a bit of pain? Is this why people self harm: the physical pain eases the mental pain?
Nothing further on file.
